Arlington Chess Club is conducting three fundraising events with all proceeds going to support the 62nd Annual US Armed Forces Open Chess Championship. You can help by playing in one or more of the fundraising events or by just making a donation.

Support by Playing in a Fundraising Event

Online Blitz

  • Open to everyone
  • 5 minute games; no increment or delay.
  • April 11, 2021 2:00pm (central time)
  • Six rounds of five minute blitz games
  • Limited to the first 64 players
  • Registration Deadline: April 9, 2021

Games will be played on Chess.com. All players must have an account on Chess.com. After registering for the event, you will be invited to join the fundraiser club on Chess.com and will be allowed to participate in the online tournament. There will be no cash prizes, but we will send a certificate to the winners.

Rated Online Blitz

  • Open to US Chess Federation Members
  • April 18, 2021 2:00pm (central time)
  • Six rounds of five minute blitz games (G/5;d0)
  • Games will be rated Online Blitz by US Chess Federation
  • Limited to the first 64 players
  • Registration Deadline: April 15, 2021 (note: registering late may make it impossible to confirm your USCF to Chess.com ID)

Games will be played on Chess.com. All players must have an account on Chess.com, and an active membership in the US Chess Federation. After registering for the event, you will be invited to join the fundraiser club on Chess.com and will be allowed to participate in the online tournament. There will be no cash prizes, but we will send a certificate to the winners.

Slow Time Control Online Tournament (G/60;+10)

  • Open to US Chess Federation Members
  • May 22-23, 2021 on Chess.com
  • Four Rounds (Sat. 9am & 1pm; Sun. 1pm & 6pm; central timezone)
  • Games will be rated Online Regular by US Chess Federation
  • Limited to the first 20 players
  • Registration Deadline: May 14, 2021

After registering for the event, you will be invited to join the fundraiser club on Chess.com and will be allowed to participate in the online tournament.
